  • Christmas Play

Christmas Play practice will begin in October with a few differences this year.  There will be no paper scripts – scripts will be emailed to participants.  Practice for speaking parts will begin with readings via “Zoom meeting”.    When in person practice does begin – participants will wear masks until there is a change in the current orders from the board.  I would like to get an idea of who would like to be part of the play this year.  Please email or text me the following information – the name of your child, age, computer availability and if they prefer a speaking part.  My email is donnalynne713@yahoo.com or text 910-934-7975.

  • COVID-19/REOPENING Statement UPDATE (7/31/20)

    COVID-19/REOPENING Statement UPDATE (7/31/20)

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST AND SHARE.

It has been both a delight and a blessing being able to meet together for worship these past several weeks. It is so encouraging to see things returning to a semblance of normalcy. Thus far, everything has worked out smoothly. BEGINNING THIS SUNDAY (8/2/20), WE ARE REOPENING OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES at 10:00 AM. On-site worship will continue each Lord's Day morning at 11:00 AM. We are also holding Wednesday night Bible Study in the Fellowship Hall at 7:00 PM. Our operating procedures will still be SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT than usual. You may reference those procedures and guidelines by clicking here.

  • CURRENT REOPENING PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES (7/31/20)

CURRENT REOPENING PRODCEDURES AND GUIDELINES (7/31/20)

    1. Please note there will be NO Sunday evening services.
    2. Please understand that we WILL BE PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING.
      1. Because of that, we will be admitting ONE FAMILY AT A TIME into the foyer area where you will be given any items you will need for the worship time.
      2. After this, you will be ushered into the auditorium and seated TOGETHER AS A FAMILY.
      3. Families will be seated AT LEAST SIX FEET APART.
      4. Please ensure that YOUR CHILDREN ARE SEATED WITH YOU as there will be NO nursery or children’s classes provided.
      5. We WILL be providing age-appropriate ACTIVITY PACKETS for the children. Also, Tori will post the Kid’s Worship and Lesson on Sunday afternoon for you to use with your children at home.
    3. For everyone’s safety, it is necessary that we DO NOT practice PERSONAL CONTACT such as hugs, handshakes, fist bumps, elbow bumps, etc. We must also limit the amount of movement/mingling throughout the building to only that which is necessary. Unless you must get up to use the restroom, we ask that you please remain seated with your family. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO PREPARE YOUR CHILDREN IN ADVANCE as this will be a particularly difficult adjustment for them. We love the energy our children have and enjoy seeing them mingle and play together, but it is necessary that we keep them from doing so for a time.
    4. For those who are uncomfortable meeting in the auditorium, we will be broadcasting the service on the television in the fellowship hall, where space allows for more spreading out. We may also need to seat any overflow in the fellowship hall as well.
    5. We will NOT be passing around trays for the Lord’s Supper. INSTEAD, we will use PRE-PACKAGED bread and juice that you will receive upon entrance into the building.
    6. We will NOT be passing collection plates for the offering. INSTEAD, there will be an offering drop box in the foyer where you may drop off your tithes and offerings as you enter or exit the building.
    7. Due to the fact that all surfaces touched/handled will need to be cleaned/disinfected, we ask that you bring your own Bible. However, we will have Bible’s available for those who do not have access to one.
    8. WE STRONGLY INSIST THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES BE FOLLOWED:
      1. We ask that you PLEASE CHECK YOUR TEMPERATURE BEFORE LEAVING HOME. IF YOU ARE RUNNING A FEVER – EVEN A LOW-GRADE FEVER – we ask that you REMAIN AT HOME.
      2. IF YOU ARE SICK OR ARE EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS SIMILAR TO THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH COVID-19, PLEASE REMAIN AT HOME.
      3. IF YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE WITH COVID-19 IN THE PAST 14 DAYS OR HAVE TRAVELED TO AN AREA WITHIN THE LAST 14 DAYS THAT WOULD BE DEEMED AS A HOT SPOT FOR COVID-19, PLEASE REMAIN AT HOME.
    9. If you or someone you take care of has health or immune system issues that make you particularly vulnerable to COVID-19, please WISELY EXERCISE YOUR OWN JUDGMENT regarding your attendance.
    10. In keeping with the current state guidelines, we ask that you PLEASE WEAR A MASK. If you desire to wear other personal, protective equipment such as gloves, please feel free to do so. We ask that you PLEASE SUPPLY THESE ITEMS YOURSELF. Our servers WILL be wearing masks and gloves for your safety and theirs as well. We WILL have hand sanitizer available for use as you enter the building.
    11. For those who are uncomfortable joining us in person or are unable to do so because of health concerns, we WILL RECORD the service and POST IT ONLINE on our Facebook page and website on Sunday afternoon to enable you to worship with us at home.

  • Let's Pray Together at 1946

One of our elders, Stuart Ervin, sent the following idea to the rest of our elders. We would like to pass it on to you as a good recommendation.

Daniel preached an encouraging message, “God is our refuge and strength,” from Psalms chapter 46. Psalms is the 19th book of the Bible. Using those numbers, 1946, as military time, that would be 7:46 pm. Let’s make that a set time our church prays every day – a time to pray for our church, the nation, our elected representatives, the frontline workers, the sick, those with compromised immune systems and existing medical conditions. Let’s be the church that prays about this current crisis every day from our homes at 1946, that is 7:46 pm. Please join us in this endeavor.

  • CHEW Program Announcement

The CHEW Program is continuing to pack the weekly food bags. We would like to continue supplying the chicken noodle soup for these bags even amid the current circumstances. You may drop of soup donations at the church building. Thanks in advance for your help in keeping this vital community service going.
